Principal in E-insights, a consultancy specializing in the opportunities, challenges and pitfalls inherent in the application of digital systems and network technology in real-world business settings.

E-insights has extensive experience in Internet business strategy and development, large scale development and operations, competitive analysis and performance evaluation.

Recent assignments have included technology due diligence and synergy cost savings estimates for a large acquisition, along with the subsequent integration; load testing at a large Internet site; and trouble shooting the analysis and reporting systems of an Internet service provider so they could respond promptly, and correctly, to their clients requests for marketing data and insights.

Customers have included the National Broadcasting Corp (NBC), its CNBC unit, Primedia Inc., the Arts & Entertainment Television network, Playboy Entertainment, Choice Seat Inc., INTO Networks and Gemstar-TV Guide.

March 1997 – May 1999

Vice President of Technology, within the Internet section of the Cable & New Business Division, responsible for strategic planning in the Internet and media convergence arenas, partner, supplier and investment candidate identification, evaluation and due diligence investigations, RFP/RFQ process orchestration, vendor selection, contract negotiation and management. In addition, I was responsible for operational oversight of on-line operations and projects across numerous NBC, affiliate and partner organizations covering general marketing, on-line entertainment and E-commerce, integrated on-line/on-air events, live events and on-line contests and surveys.

Electronic Commerce division of Philips Electronics North America (TradeMedia.net)

March 1996 – March 1997

Founder and CEO, responsible for all operations of a business providing electronic marketing services to customers primarily in the entertainment, consumer packaged goods and financial services sectors.

Specific services provided included Internet/WWW site design, development and operations for both consumer marketing and closed user groups, CD-ROM based "SmartCatalogs" for trade channel marketing, and ISDN based services providing Interactive Marketing Support, Video Conferencing and application sharing.

Philips Media, NY, NY

July 1994 - March 1996

Vice President & Chief Technology Officer at Philips Media, my primary responsibility was to participate in cooperative venture negotiations and in Technology Valuation & Due Diligence Activities for investments, acquisitions and joint ventures on a world wide basis. I was also responsible for internal technology development of hardware product platforms and software development systems for interactive network based services.

Philips Laboratories, Briarcliff Manor, NY

Sept. 1986 - Jun 1994

Director of the Information Sciences Sector responsible for research, development, and consulting operations for approximately forty five staff and extensive laboratory facilities. R&D in the areas of Industrial Automation, Medical Imaging, Information Management, Multimedia and Logistics were undertaken in support of Philips’ worldwide business operations. Established a Software & Services Laboratory to act as a locus for new business creation activities in support of a corporate strategy of diversification.

Siemens Corp. Research & Technology, Princeton, NJ

June 1982 - Aug 1986

Group Leader, Advanced Design Tools managed two research programs, one in the area of computer aided design (CAD) systems and the second in the area of electron beam testing of integrated circuits
